Gamercraft - Creating a user database
How to aggregate user research for future projects
The challenge: At Gamercraft, user insights were scattered across Discord, support tickets, and occasional interviews, slowing product decisions and causing redundant research.
My solution: I built a centralized user research library, organizing all feedback by experience stages and identified opportunities, inspired by Teresa Torres’ “Discovery Habits” method.
Organizational impact: This library became the go-to tool for all product decisions, eliminating redundant research and speeding up discovery phases. The team could now rely on structured data instead of scattered knowledge, turning research from anecdotal to systematic.

Where to start?
We started by collecting user feedback:
Feedback sources: Support tickets and discussions on our Discord.
Proximity to users: We created specific channels on Discord to directly collect player opinions.
I also conducted regular interviews to gain deeper insights and identify areas for improvement.

How to synthesize interviews?
To analyze the interviews, I followed a method inspired by Discovery Habits by Teresa Torres:
Key quotes: I selected the most important user feedback.
User stories: Quick sketches to illustrate user scenarios.
Details: Additional context from the interviews.
Audio/video excerpts: Labeled and easy to access.
Improvement opportunities: Concrete recommendations for platform improvements.
All of this information was centralized in a shared library, accessible to the teams.

Final structure
The library was organized by user experience stages:
Organization by stages: Feedback is classified by the different steps users take on the platform (sign-up, participation, etc.).
Identified opportunities: Verbatims are grouped by opportunities to prioritize improvements.
A living tool: The structure allows new feedback to be added over time, making it easy to guide future iterations.
